When we talk about child protection it means that to save children from harsh behaviors, abuse, exploitation, violence and from getting neglect. To give proper protection to Child UN convention has made an article on the right of the child which is article 19. This article provides protection not just in home but also out of the house too. The very basic idea of these protection systems is to save children from all bad things and behavior which ever are possible. But the definition given by the UN system is not being considered a right one. It has defined it as a system in article:
“the set of laws, policies, regulations and services needed across all social sectors – especially social welfare, education, health, security and justice – to support prevention and response to protection-related risks. These systems are part of social protection, and extend beyond it. At the level of prevention, their aim includes supporting and strengthening families to reduce social exclusion, and to lower the risk of separation, violence and exploitation. Responsibilities are often spread across government agencies, with services delivered by local authorities, non-Sate providers, and community groups, making coordination between sectors and levels, including routine referral systems, a necessary component of effective child protection systems.“
In many under developed countries and those who are very poor economically children are forced to work very hard so they can buy food or they can survive. This normally happens in very bad situations and also the lack of education can cause many such problems in countries where many people do not thing of education a important factor of life. The number of those kids who are facing such condition is impossible to define, in 2004 roughly 150 million kids under the age of 5 were working in all over the world, and by this situation one can only imagine how many kids bigger than five are working. Domestic labor is another case entirely.
In many countries child get punishment and get jailed in case of any crime. In china and Iran they get verdict of capital punishment. In the areas where wars are going on they also can be victim as prisoners of war. In the worst cases they become victim of prostitution and exploit. This is the biggest danger of poverty and hunger.
Child abuse has many factors such as using power on them for wrong purposes, or neglecting them even knowing it can harm them very excessively. Using force on them or hurting them in any other way.
It is important for parents and other people who are responsible for them to provide them with every basic thing they need go grow properly, to give them an atmosphere which is very relaxed and will leave a positive effect on their growth.
