Architecture is the business of making maps planning and creating buildings for human use. There are very old and traditional ways of constructing these building and many of these were being used till recent years, Such as Europe keep developing their architecture according to the ancient Greeks and Romans for centuries. On the other hand other states and continents developed their own rules and ways to tell how these buildings should look and construct. In the past the main builder was planning all the things about establishment of a building but now the map making and planning is the job of an architect. There is a vast and clear difference between the responsibilities of a builder and an architect.
Architect tells their ideas of the look of a home by drawing them; they can draw on papers or using computer technology they can draw on screen. Different drawings have different names and meanings such as plan is a footprint of establishment in discussion which shows the look of the rooms and the distance between them. Elevation show the face of the building and the cross section tells about the stories and their levels and also tells how they will match with each other. The manner of doors and window will also be drawn in cross section.
They also tell about each and every small detail such as how the window should open, this is called technical details and an ornamental detail is that shows how the head of the column should be engraved.
Architect can draw all these details by themselves or they can hire an artist to do the drawing job for them. They will come up with a model made of their perspectives, which shows the final look of the construction.
The ancient architecture of the roman building gave the idea of three important factors of construction which are beauty, usefulness and last but not least the stability of the building. The usefulness of the building depends on the comfort which it can provide, stability is on the other hand is the safety and the toughness of it and the most importantly the beauty which depends on the appeal and how it attract attention of people.
There were two types of architecture in the past first was classical architecture and the second was Gothic. Classic one was described in the buildings of ancient Rome and Greek. Greek buildings were based on columns which were of three types Doric, lonic and Corinthian. These establishments also had horizontal beams.
Roman buildings also used columns two of these did have the Greek style and there were other two which were typically of Roman style called Tuscan and composite. These columns were the base of ornament system, which used in the building inspired by ancient Greek and Roman examples.
A new style of architecture came on the show in 12th century which called with Gothic architecture. These buildings had skeleton like system which was more powerful than stonework to support the weight of the vaults. They had pointed arches which were stronger than rounded one.
